Life
Interestingly enough The last seven years of my life I have been diagnosed as having Parkinson's disease, I found out Febuary 2nd 1999. Since then my life has taken quite a turn once again. I have chosen to make it a positive adventure. I have become anactive advicate for the state of Texas and have been to Washington D.C. and lobbied with Congress for stem cell research. I am the President of the Local Shreveport/Bossier City and East Texas Chapter of Parkinson's Support Group and the President of the Parkinson's Resource and Lending Library. I am very active in helping not only the person with Parkinson's but their Families and Caregivers as well. My Grandmother on my Mothers side had it and died at 58 years young. palsey. Thank Goodness they are so much more advance in their knowledge now. I have been blessed to have met some wonderful people through this journey and am very active every day. I go to the fitness center and work out and am training for our 5k in March. Wish you all could come. It is so much fun. This is just our 4th year of our run but it would be so great to have my classmates be there for such a great cause. In October 2006 I was choosen to go to Dallas at Presbytarian Hospital and have what they call Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. It was a brain surgery that I had to be fully awake for. I have two pace makers and have been given a bit of extra time. I have had it now for 12 years. I have been married for 17 years and live out in the country. Life is grand
